Destiny 2 – How To Get Bottom Dollar | Legendary Hand Cannon

With the release of Season of the Chosen, similar to Season 8 of Apex Legends, Destiny 2 has seen the addition of a brand new Hand Cannon. Right now, players are going crazy for it. This weapon is called Bottom Dollar, and it’s special for a couple of reasons. In this guide, we’ll be showing you how you can pick this Hand Cannon up. We’ll also show you what you might be able to get with rolls on it.

Currently, there’s only one known way to pick up this weapon. You need to play Gambit and hope that it drops from the loot pool. While the potential pile of loot to pick from with Gambit is already quite small, you’ll still need to play a fair few matches to get this.

To increase your chances of earning the weapon, you need to pick up and complete bounties from The Drifter. He’s the vendor for Gambit. He will also offer some powerful rewards if you complete enough bounties for him each week. Add this to the powerful rewards on offer for completing a few Gambit matches each week, and you should get this Hand Cannon very quickly.

The higher your Infamy rank, the better your rewards from Gambit are likely to be. You can increase this rank by completing Gambit bounties and playing more Gambit matches. It’s a slow process, but eventually, you’ll be able to max out the rank and reset it. by that point, you should definitely have earned the weapon.

What Makes Bottom Dollar so Special?

There two main reasons that players are very excited about Bottom Dollar. The first is that it’s what is called a ‘120 Hand Cannon.’ This means that it has a rate of fire of 120 rounds per minute. This is the best rate of fire that a Hand Cannon can have in the game.

The second reason that this weapon is so coveted is the fact that it’s elemental. Not many Hand Cannons are elemental weapons, but this one uses Void to buff its damage. This makes it way more viable as a weapon in raids and strikes. That’s because it can deal additional damage to Void shields, which kinetic Hand Cannons are useless against.

Potential Perks

The potential perk pool with this weapon is massive. This means that you could get a roll with all sorts of perks attached to it. Here, we’ll cover all the perks you might get in Trait Slot 1 and Trait Slot 2. See which ones are your favorite, so you know what to look out for when you’re trying to earn it.

Trait Slot 1 Perks

  • Killing Wind – Final blows give you increased mobility, handling, and weapon range for a short period of time.
  • Surplus – Reload speed, handling, and stability are increased with each fully-charged ability.
  • Fourth Time’s The Charm – Returns two rounds to the magazine when you land rapid precision hits.
  • Pulse Monitor – When critically wounded, the weapon will be automatically reloaded and have improved weapon handling, even if it’s stowed.
  • Feeding Frenzy – Reload speed is progressively increased with each rapid kill for a short period of time.
  • Hip-Fire Grip – Stability, accuracy, and precision hit targeting is increased when firing from the hip.
  • Subsistence – Reserve ammo capacity is reduced, but kills will partially reload the magazine.
  • Rapid Hit – Stability and reload speed are temporarily increased with rapid precision hits.
  • Quickdraw – Makes the draw speed for this weapon unbelieveably fast.
  • Slideshot – Range and stability are temporarily boosted after a slide, and the weapon will be partially reloaded as well.
  • Rangefinder – Range and zoom range for this weapon are greatly incrased. Aiming velocity with grenade launches and rocket launchers is also greatly increased.
  • Outlaw – Reload time is greatly decreased with precision kills.

Trait Slot 2 Perks

  • Dragonfly – Precision kills generate an elemental explosion.
  • Thresh – Small amounts of super energy are generated by killing combatants with this weapon.
  • Wellspring – Kills generate ability energy, which is split between all uncharged abilities.
  • Unrelenting – Health regeneration is triggered by rapidly killing targets. Any Guardian or tougher enemy kills count as multiple kills.
  • Disruption Break – Using this weapon to break an enemy’s shield makes them much more vulnerable to kinetic damage for a short period of time.
  • Multikill Clip – Reloading gives you increased damage based on the number of rapid kills achieved in the last clip.
  • High-Impact Reserves – The final rounds of a magazine deal more damage than the others.
  • Rampage – Increased damage is granted with kills from this weapon. It can stack up to three times.
  • Eye of the Storm – As your health gets lower, handling and accuracy are increased.
  • Demolitionist – Kills generate grenade energy, using your grenade reloads the weapon.
  • Explosive Payload – Any projectiles create an AoE damage field on impact.
  • Opening Shot – Range and accuracy are improved for the first shot of an attack.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to gear your game towards earning a specific roll of Bottom Dollar. This weapon will drop with random perks every single time. There’s nothing you can do about it. However, as we mentioned above, you’ve got more of a chance of earning better rolls if you increase your Infamy rank.

If you wanted to, you could spend all of your time in Gambit. This would probably result in a few good rolls of this weapon. The way that seasonal challenges work this season, combined with how open Destiny 2 is anyway, means that you can play your way. If you want to get as many versions of this Hand Cannon as possible, you can do just that.

If you do, you can apply shaders to each one and have an arsenal of crazy-looking Hand Cannons at your disposal.

That’s everything you need to know about how to get Bottom Dollar in Destiny 2. Keep playing Gambit, and you’ll earn it eventually. Getting the perfect roll really is going to take a while though. Let us know if you do end up grabbing it in the comments.
