Path Of Exile Rolls Back Xbox Servers And Runs Talent Contest

No MMO developer likes to do rollbacks, but sometimes they’re inevitable. Grinding Gear Games came to that conclusion yesterday when it was forced to roll back Xbox One servers for Path of Exile due to “a number of unintended behaviours” that were having a negative impact on the economy.

As laid out in a forum post, corrupted code resulted in some currency orbs not functioning properly, and rare reward drops and crafting results happening at a too-high rate. GGG has thus rolled back the servers to a state before the 3.13.1 patch was deployed, “as protecting the state of the in-game economy is of utmost importance.” On the bright side, this only wiped out about an hour’s worth of progress, but given how much devoted PoE players can do in an hour, it probably had a severely negative impact on at least a few players.

In better news, you can now enter a Path of Exile Talent Competition to show off your creativity and win some sweet prizes. You can submit your creation in virtually any field, including cosplay, fan art, dance, baking, gifs, music, fan fiction, comics, or crafts. Prizes include autographed art books and prints, a cloth map of Wraeclast, a foam Exalted Orb, and in-game microtransactions. Entries should be submitted as replies to the announcement thread here, and must be posted before March 7 at 8 p.m. Pacific.
