Tencent Hires Activision Blizzard And Call Of Duty Marketing Veteran David Tyler

Tencent is not only gobbling up smaller studios but is also snapping up developers as games industry marketing veteran David Tyler joins the company as Director of Global Marketing for PC and console games.

Tyler has over 20 years of marketing experience, including nearly 14 years at Activision Blizzard where he handles European marketing for Spider-man, James Bond, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. He then became International VP of Marketing for the Call of Duty franchise, holding the position for seven years. He left Activision in 2019 and has been working as a consultant for development studios, including Techland, the studio behind Dead Island and Dying Light.

“Tencent are at an exciting stage in their development as an organisation,” he told GamesIndustry.biz. “I’m delighted to have joined them at this time and look forward to partnering with our growing number of studio teams to bring great games to global audiences.”
